The Worried King
Robert Meyers-Lussier · Painting - Digital Basohli Miniature Painting From Family Heirloom Painting
The Worried King begins with the family heirloom tiger painting that has been part of my family since at least 1969. The tiger is transformed into a richly colored Basohli miniature painting, presented frontally within an ornate architectural frame. Saturated orange and red dominate the page, while gold, green, blue, pearl-white, and black create a jewel-like decorative surface. The tiger is adorned with a layered necklace, jeweled foreleg bands, and small ear ornaments, surrounded by stylized flowers, patterned panels, architectural finials, and a narrow band of blue sky. His familiar pose and worried expression remain fully recognizable, but the transformation elevates him into an improbable royal presence.
